What is the difference between how i met your mother

I was bummed they didn't just make it a two-hour season-ender, so they would get to show certain parts [that were cut]. The table read for the finale was so good, so right, but it was also like 14 hours long. So when I actually saw the final version of the show, I was like, 'They cut out everything! But, speaking of scenes that were cut, that leads us right into the next topic. Just as Alyson Hannigan noted , there were scenes that were cut, including a brief funeral scene for Tracy that would have made the process easier for fans.

Some of the deleted scenes made it onto the Season 9 DVD, including an integral scene between Ted and Robin out for lunch and discussing the past and how Robin still had feelings for him. Unfortunately, the funeral scene was never included in the DVD release.

Either way, all of these additional scenes would have added a lot more nuance to the series finale. It might have even made it clearer that Ted and Robin would eventually get back together. At the very least, it would have been nice to see pivotal character moments that would have added more depth to an already emotional ending and perhaps even provided some much-needed closure.

And there were stretches where characters would be absent entirely, like when Lily disappeared to San Francisco for a few episodes. Each week when a new episode of Friends aired, you pretty much knew what you were getting. Every episode more or less followed the same rigid format of an A-plot mixed in with a B-plot. One episode would have a sci-fi twist as Ted talks to future versions of himself and Barney. It was much less predictable than Friends.

Ben Sherlock is a writer, comedian, and independent filmmaker. He's currently in pre-production on his first feature, and has been for a while because filmmaking is expensive. In the meantime, he's sitting on a mountain of unproduced screenplays.

You can catch him performing standup at odd pubs around the UK that will give him stage time. By Ben Sherlock Published Feb 29, They carry a cultural burden on their shoulders. Joey is an Italian, short, muscular womanizer. Barney is his American counterpart; rich, successful and lean. Both men have one night stands with women but never call them again. Barney and Joey have theorized their philandering ways. In both the series, the womanizer developed a crush for the leading lady. In Friends , Joey had a teeny tiny crush over Rachel, which wasn't reciprocated at first.

But, later, Joey and Rachel tried to work it out. It couldn't last for long, nonetheless. Rachel ends up with Ross because he's her lobster. Ted is mad at them, just as Ross is mad at Joey and Rachel.

Barney and Robin get together for a while and break up. They eventually get married, only to later get divorced. Whom does Ted end up with? Ted stole a blue French horn for her. He would have stolen her the whole orchestra. A strong couple is another similarity between the two shows. For Friends , it was Monica and Chandler who eventually realized they belonged together.

Once they committed to each other, they figured out their highs and lows. It wasn't always rainbows and butterflies for Monica and Chandler, but it was a beautiful romance crafted in the show. They set their standards so high, no one could match up to them. Both sitcoms also show the characters at a recurring hangout spot, where they go to talk and drink. Both series usually show the characters hanging out during regular work hours, which is odd because to afford the things they spend their money on they need to work.

This is true in both sitcoms and it shows their directionless paths in a comedic twist. These similar situations across the two shows is another reason people link them together. While the two shows have many parallels they also have a couple of differences.

For one, the way the plot of each television show is organized is different.
