The Edward vacuum is just like Henry but he has a much bigger capacity. He is for dry use only and is a great upgrade if you own a business.
All the Henry tools remain the same on Edward. Charles is a wet and dry vacuum that is available for a very reasonable price.
He is the same size as Edward for dry use and uses the same filter and bags. When using as a wet vacuum simply change the filter and remove the bag. He is a favourite with tradesmen such as plumbers. A blocked sink for example is a walk in the park. Simply put the hose nozzle over the plug hole and he can suck up blockage instantly. Charles also comes with a wet floor tool. This is ideal for cleaning up spillages on hard floors, or indeed drying them out.
I have seen these being used in work places such as car garages. Cleaning up wet slippy floors to avoid hazards. Charles can also be used on carpets and upholstery, although this is his down fall. He is also fitted with a W motor as he is designed for use with water as well as dry cleaning. He comes with a generous accessory kit that allows him to do all the same jobs as the dry only machines with the added ability to work as a wet vacuum. Having a Charles wet vacuum cleaner around the house can be really useful, especially if you have a lot of hard floors that may need drying after mopping or cleaning with a floor scrubber.

James the yellow vacuum cleaner is a great little machine from Numatic that offers a slightly smaller form factor than the other machines in the family. He has a compact 8 litre drum and a self-wind cable holder on his head, both of these elements combined make the James hoover smaller than the other machines. This reduction in size does not equate to poorer performance though, he features the same motor as the Henry and packs a punch, working well on even stubborn dirt.
Another great thing about the Numatic James is that he has aluminium tubes that are a little lighter in weight when compared to the stainless items. AutoSave meant that the vacuum cleaners that had W motors would start in W mode every time they were turned on; you would then have to manually switch it to the higher power mode.
The Latest generation of machines are fitted with w motors that are more efficient and therefore outperform the old machines that had W motors making an AutoSave function redundant. Like the full-size Hetty, the HET has on-board storage for tools, a cable rewind system and energy-saving motor. The only real differences are the smaller size and 6 litre capacity.
The Hetty HET is an option to consider if you love the features of the Henry but want a smaller and more compact vacuum. While the pink colour scheme might put some people off, the HET is an excellent vacuum cleaner and provides great value. The James has many of the same features as the Henry. It also has an A-rating for energy efficiency, HepaFlo bags and a number of accessories.
There are some missing features though. Even so, if you want a vacuum with many of the advantages of the Henry Hoover at a lower cost, the James is an excellent choice. Another popular model in the Henry Hoover range is the Harry.
There are some important differences though. Unlike the Henry, the Harry is built with a MicroFresh charcoal filter click here for an overview of what a charcoal filter does. This reduces pet odours in the home while removing hair and dust particles from the air. If you own a dog, cat or other animal that sheds, the Harry Hoover is probably the best option in the Henry range. It has all the same features, including a large capacity and strong suction, but is better equipped to deal with pet hair and animal odours.
The HVX is a W vacuum that has all the features of the standard model — but with a few additions not found on the cheaper option. The biggest difference is that the Xtra comes with two additional floor heads.
The first is the Henry Hoover Airobrush, which is designed for removing more dirt and dust from carpets. A hard floor brush is also included. Aside from the new floor tools, the Xtra is also more energy efficient.
Instead, the Micro comes with a more effective MicroTex filtration system that stops allergens escaping. Aside from the new filter, the Henry Micro has the same features as the standard Henry. These include a a 10 metre power cable, 9 litre capacity, cable rewind system and the AS1 stainless steel accessory kit.
One difference is the drum shape. As you can see from the photo, the HVR has a furniture guard above the wheels to protect fixtures and fittings. The Professional also has switches at the front of the machine for easy access. Numatic also produces several wet and dry vacuums.
As the name suggests, these models are capable of sucking up liquid spills as well as dry debris, making them a great option for gardens or industrial cleaning. It can handle both dry and wet vacuuming, while also being suitable for unblocking sinks, vacuuming upholstery and drying floors after cleaning. With a power rating of over W, the George is considerably more powerful than other Numatic vacuums.
